Saturday September 9, 2017, marked the grand opening for The Shop which is a community workshop where you can learn how to use tools to complete the do it yourself projects
The “Makerspace” movement of has finally hit Rapid City making it one of more than two thousand in the world.
One of the new members of The Shop, Jackie Thomas, says “everybody that I’ve talked to has been really interested and been like oh that’s a great idea. It’s someplace we can kind of go build things and have some comradery between other people with similar interest.”
They have various membership options, so once you sign up and pass the safety tests, you get to use any of the equipment on site.
