TEDCO, Maryland’s technology-focused economic organization, has announced the approval of funding for 20 projects as part of the Maryland Makerspace Initiative Program. This program aims to support the creation and expansion of Makerspaces throughout the state. The funding will be distributed to projects in 11 counties and Baltimore City.
The Maryland Makerspace Initiative Program provides grants of up to $100,000 and technical assistance to qualified entities. The program was established through legislation passed by the Maryland General Assembly. Its goal is to develop a statewide network of Makerspaces that provide entrepreneurs with access to resources and training to foster business growth and innovation. These Makerspaces offer tools and technologies for prototyping and product creation, as well as educational opportunities and workforce training.
