Kevin Brown has learned a lot about running libraries during his career. This month, he started as Pontiac’s new library director. The Atlanta, Georgia, native said becoming a librarian seemed like a natural fit.
“One of my great aunts was a library media specialist at my high school,” he said. “And I come from a family of educators. My mom and three of my aunts were teachers. My grandfather was a principal.”
Colleen Vieira, who served as the interim library director and who has worked for Pontiac School District since 1987, said she was glad to help Pontiac’s library but she’s happy to get back into her usual routine at school.
Brown, she said, is a good thinker with good ideas.
