REDDING — School life may be returning to normal from the pandemic, but John Read Middle School has something new for its students — an outdoor classroom.
With amphitheater-style seating and a small pavilion, the outdoor learning space located in a wooded area on the middle school campus is designed to enrich and diversify learning experiences and other activities for John Read students.
While they have already been combining the outdoors and learning through science classes and Project Adventure, the “beautiful new venue opens many more opportunities for our students to dream, create and innovate,” said Principal Jennifer Desmarais.
