Just recently, at the Whiteclay Makerspace in Whiteclay, Nebraska a craft store is now open. They sell different craft supplies such as beads, needles, thread, leather, pellon, latigo, and different materials for sewing projects such as star quilts and ribbon skirts.
In 2018, was when the Whiteclay Makerspace first opened, it is a non-profit organization that was created to provide a space for artists here on the Pine Ridge reservation to create their artwork, sell their artwork and if they are a new to creating art, they provide classes once a month to learn as well. Not only do they have crafting supplies available for artists, but they also provide sewing machines, star quilt making machines, leather tools and construction tools are available to use for sculpture making as well.
