LAKEWOOD, Ohio — The Lakewood City Schools Board of Education late last week named Margaret “Maggie” Niedzwiecki as the district’s new superintendent.
The existing Lakewood City Schools Assistant Superintendent will replace the outgoing Michael J. Barnes, who announced he was leaving the district to lead the Mayfield City School at the end of the school year.
“Everyone on the board is thrilled and happy, as well as the administrators and building principals,” Lakewood City Schools Board President Betsy Shaughnessy said. “The idea that she could work with Mike Barnes and be mentored into the superintendent role for six months, it seemed like a dream come true.”
