BEDFORD — A $10,000 grant the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council received from the AT&T Foundation is helping the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County to address learning loss and close the digital divide caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The AT&T Foundation grant targeted the Boys & Girls Club’s summer program for students in grades 3-8, which was designed to inspire interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects. The program, located in the makerspace at the Thornton Teen Center, enables kids to work with engineering project kits to gain a general knowledge of the skills needed to operate 3D printers and laser engravers.
