NORWALK – Members of the Fairfield County Makers’ Guild provided a fun way for a group of teenagers and pre-teens to learn physics, computer programming and mathematics Saturday morning at Makerspace, 327 Main Ave.
Using the Lego Mindstorms platform, the children programmed a robot to maneuver its way through an obstacle course as part of a series of classes offered by the makers’ guild.
“I love teaching this because the kids get so excited,” said Vladimir Mariano, one of the founders of Fairfield County Makers Guild. “The first moment they make the robots move, their eyes light up.”
Formed in 2013, the Fairfield County Makers’ Guild is a collective of area tinkerers, hobbyists, inventors and builders. The group moved into its new home — the Makerspace, which is located one floor above the Batters’ Box in the converted factory space at 327 Main Ave….
