RIDGEWOOD, NJ – Tech entrepreneur and Ridgewood High School graduate Dave Duffield – a pioneer who helped shape the software industry and who founded Workday, PeopleSoft and Ridgeline – has donated $635,000 to Ridgewood High School, making it the largest single gift in the district’s history.
The gift, known as the Duffield STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) Initiative, was made through the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation and presented Monday night by The Ridgewood High School Alumni Association (RHSAA) to the Ridgewood Board of Education.
Duffield, who graduated in 1958, said: “We are proud to be able to give back to my alma mater, Ridgewood High School. We hope that the Duffield STEAM Initiative helps to inspire students to become the next generation of leaders in the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.”
