The pandemic has affected the way the Dell Rapids Elementary School operates, including the library. Instead of having students into the library, I brought the library to them. Each grade level had their own brightly painted library cart filled with many types of books. Maker Space which is STEAM activities for the students to participate in during class time in the library was different this year as well. I filled paper bags with various STEAM activities for each student in 1st-4th grade to work on at their desks. Students were able to enjoy Maker Space for 30 minutes once a month.
It has been a long-standing tradition to hold the Scholastic Book Fair in the library during October Parent-Teacher conferences. However, this year we held a Virtual Book Fair in February during Parent-Teacher conferences instead. Thank you to all who supported our first ever Virtual Book Fair.
