Families participate in unique e-camp amid COVID-19 pandemic

SINGAPORE — Over 60 families took part in a unique virtual overnight camp from Friday (13 November) evening to Saturday afternoon.

Camp-V, the first in a series of free “e-camps” organised by Character and Leadership Academy (CLA), saw participants pitching tents, playing games and enjoying a virtual campfire.

The event was conducted through Zoom video conferencing, and was aimed at bringing families from different socio-economic backgrounds together, by bringing outdoor elements into the household setting.

To prepare participants for the virtual camp, each family was given a camp kit, sponsored by sports and outdoor apparel and equipment company Next Factor. The kit comprised of a four-man tent, ready-to-eat meals, flint, catapult-making materials, paint, buff, a 20-litre waterproof dry bag and traditional heritage games.
