That means Timken will sponsor the Makerspace learning lab at the I Promise School in Akron, the company reports.
I Promise School is a partnership between Akron Public Schools and the Akron native and basketball superstar’s philanthropic foundation. It serves at-risk elementary school children and takes a STEM approach to its curriculum.
Timken didn’t specify what its financial contribution will be, but said its employees will work with the school and share their engineering expertise with its students.
