Software Development and Design students at Murrumbidgee Regional High School (MRHS) have taken part in a unique coding session where they learnt how to control robots. The Year 11 students were taught how to code using an Arduino Microcontroller and C++ language which they used to control Pitsco Robotics by Deputy Principal of the Virtual STEM Academy Ian Preston, who is one of only a handful of Pitsco Robotics Certified Educations in the world. “Students learnt the syntax of the Arduino IDE and undertook a number of coding challenges that involved sequence, selection and repetition constructs” Mr Preston said. “One of the challenges was the program the Arduino UNO microcontroller to turn on a light when the light level in the room dropped below a certain value.” From there,…
