ROANOKE RAPIDS — Halifax County Schools held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Maker Space at middle schools in Enfield and Roanoke Rapids on Monday.
Staff and the administration held the grand opening first at Enfield Middle S.T.E.A.M. Academy and then transitioned to William R. Davie Middle S.T.E.M. Academy to welcome Maker Space.
On Thursday, WRDM Principal Brian Biles and science teacher Ligaya Aguas provided a tour inside the new learning area.
What used to be called the Media Center is now called the Maker Space, Biles said.
“All the staff members have access to this,” he said. “It’s not just the science folks, it’s everybody who has access to it.”
