Garden City High School freshman James Nagler already has a strong head start in the areas of programming and creating, which he plans to consider as possible college and career pursuits. A self-taught coder, James has successfully written two apps that are utilized by school districts and was recently recognized as a winner in the 2020 Congressional App Challenge.
Last year, James built an app for the Garden City Public Schools that enables the scheduling of time windows for Makerspace use. He later created a digital menu system app that is being rolled out in the Mineola Public Schools, where his father, Dr. Michael Nagler, serves as Superintendent.
