The Eugene Family YMCA just got a little closer to reaching its fundraising goal for a new facility, thanks to recent donations totaling $650,000 from four different supporters. The YMCA eventually hopes to raise a total of $42 million for the project.
The largest chunk of funding was $350,000 last winter from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, a private nonprofit organization based in Vancouver, Washington. The organization helps support community-focused organizations “at every level of their development,” according to the YMCA’s news release.
“The events of the last year have only served to further highlight and crystallize the importance of community organizations that help serve and support children and families every day and in moments of crisis,” the trust’s program director, Jeremy White, said.
