Dexter High School has added some new elective courses for the next school year that bring with them unique aspects and goals.
The Dexter Community Schools Board of Education at their May 10 meeting approved seven new high school elective courses – Positive Psychology, Science and Practice of Strength and Conditioning, Spanish Films and Literature, Bearing Witness, Foods & Nutrition Science 2, Makerspace, Musical Theater Workshop.
In follow up after the meeting, DCS school board president Julie Schumaker told The Sun Times News the high school will be moving to a block schedule for the 2021-22 school year, which will enable students to take eight classes per semester rather than six classes currently.
