MARTINSBURG — During Monday night’s Berkeley County Board of Education meeting, deputy superintendent Don Dellinger shared news of more than $40,000 being awarded to district teachers through Instructional Improvement Grants in the county. Eighty-four projects were funded with monies that totaled $41,573.61.
Dellinger explained a certain portion of the budget is set aside each year for grants that are entitled Berkeley County Instructional Improvement Grants. There were 122 total applicants this year.
“Teachers are given information about this grant. They are also sent a fairly simple application to fill out,” Dellinger said. “What we are asking are for projects that would help improve instruction in not only this year in the classroom but also in the Click environment.
