Federal Way Library gets its own ‘Makerspace’
The space gives resources for hand-on learning of emerging technologies like 3D printing.
The King County Library System celebrated the opening of the Makerspace at the Federal Way Library on Saturday, Sept. 17.
After a ribbon-cutting ceremony, community members explored the new space with a self-guided tour.
The Makerspace at the Federal Way Library, 34200 1st Way S., is the second of its kind. The first one opened at the Bellevue Library in April 2018. KCLS’ Makerspaces provide free hands-on learning opportunities to explore emerging technologies — from engineering, robotics, coding and 3D printing, to sewing and music production.
These innovative hubs also help support out-of-school learning to improve science, technology, engineering and math skills…
