Early last week, the Woodland City Council received a presentation highlighting the city’s new Civic Fellowship Program that recently concluded.
This is the city of Woodland’s first formal paid program to “engage young adults early in their professional career with public service opportunities” as part of the council’s “Destination 2023” priority goals. It lasted eight weeks — from June 19 through Aug. 11 — and allowed eight fellows to complete projects and participate in weekly program-wide activities.
“In spring 2023, staff opened applications for eight fellow positions,” the report noted. “Staff communicated with several community workforce and educational institutions to reach a diverse population of potential candidates.”
The eight following fellows were selected and primarily worked within their departments to accomplish specific goals.
