The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) Board approved youth and community grants for organizations in District 69.
The board, during its regular meeting, endorsed the grants allocated for the spring 2023 intake totaling $44,735.15 to be used for a variety of recreation-focused projects.
Recreation grants provide funds to organizations requesting financial assistance to offer recreation programs, special events or projects which benefit specific communities or the whole district.
There are two categories in the recreation stream: youth specific (11-18 years) and community (all ages).
The funding was awarded as follows:
$13,244.14 in Oceanside Recreation Services Youth Grants was awarded to six organizations:
- Arrowsmith Community Recreation Association – Youth Basketball rental facilities – $2,500
