STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The coronavirus pandemic might be keeping people apart because of social distancing, but it’s bringing the community together to help those in need.
Several residents are working together, pulling resources and sharing technology to make face shields for hospital and health care workers on the front lines who are in desperate need of supplies.
Borough President James Oddo’s office said it is working to support Scott Van Campen and MakerSpace NYC’s efforts to make face shields, and has put out several social media calls in an attempt to get them additional supplies to continue their fabrication.
Oddo’s office said it will facilitate any partnership it can to provide the necessary supplies.
