TAMPA — Hillsborough County has shut down the C. Blythe Andrews Jr. Public Library after an employee tested positive for the coronavirus.
The closing of the library, at 2607 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is temporary until workers can sanitize the building, the county said in a released statement.
The county had closed libraries to in-person visits as part of its response to the coronavirus pandemic. The C. Blythe Andrews Jr. Public Library was one of nine that reopened in November; three others followed suit in mid-December. Capacity is limited to 25 percent.
Under the county rules, visits are limited to one hour and the county said children younger than 17 must be accompanied by a parent. Face coverings and social distancing are required. Temperature checks are conducted at the door. Study rooms, meeting rooms, makerspace, and recording studios remain closed.
