BUTTE VALLEY — Butte College launched its celebration of Black History Month with a gathering at the student center lounge at the school’s main campus Wednesday.
According to interim public relations officer Christian Gutierrez, an interactive educational campaign and a series of in-person events highlight the celebration throughout the month of February. Events scheduled for the main campus at 3536 Butte Campus Drive, Oroville, including film screenings, student panels and guest speakers.
Butte and Chico State will host a joint event honoring the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “Victory in Unity” which will take place at Wildcat Plaza on the Chico State campus, 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
“Art Day in Maker Space” is set for the Maker Space in the main campus’ Arts Department from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees can learn methods of art creation with artist Regina Davis.
