SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — St. Bartholomew Academy kicked off “Months of Kindness” as they returned from Christmas Break.
The students will spend the months of January and February focused on the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and learn what kindness is and how they can be kinder to classmates, friends, teachers, siblings, parents, and the greater community.
Ms. Kimberly Harrigan, principal, stated: “Creating and fostering a culture of kindness in school gives each student a sense of belonging, purpose, and deepens each child’s relationship with the community. The times our children are living through are stressful and uncertain. Children pick up on this and providing them a way to channel the natural concern they have for each other also provides them a way to help process what is going on around them and give them an outlet to give back.”
