Before the Grace A. Dow Memorial library can open, over $1 million worth of repairs must be completed first.
Midland City Council met this week in a regular meeting and approved two projects in a 5-0 vote to repair the library from last year’s dam failure flooding. With these repairs, the library will hopefully be open to the public by the end of the year, said Library Director Mariam Andrus.
“(I have) an appreciation for Mariam and staff,” said council member Marty Wazbinski. “I’m sure this is not what you expected when you came on to the job a couple years ago, so a lot of good work.”
