The Fountain Creek Watershed District is set to host a public forum from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, at the Rawlings Main Library, 100 E. Abriendo Ave.
District staff is seeking input on how the agency can continue supporting and improving the health and recreational opportunities of the Fountain Creek watershed from Palmer Lake to Pueblo. The Fountain Creek Watershed Flood Control and Greenway District was established in 2009 to mitigate flooding, erosion and sedimentation, address water quality issues, improve drainage, protect open space and develop public recreational opportunities.
During the past 14 years, the district has completed more than $33 million in creek restoration projects that protect and restore the health of Fountain Creek. Parking in the newly renovated parking lot is free and light refreshments will be served.
