Beautification, youth outreach, a supply pantry, a music festival and signage were among the Upper Kanawha Valley community projects which passed muster with a committee from the WV Community Development Hub recently.
During a special event on Tuesday, March 30 at the Smithers Gateway Center, WV Community Development Hub representatives unveiled the list of 20 minigrant recipients in the Montgomery/Smithers area through the Cultivate WV program.
Amanda Workman-Scott, director of community engagement for the WV Community Development Hub, congratulated minigrant award recipients. She and colleague Jenny Totten will engage with recipients in the coming weeks to further the process along. Workman-Scott said early this week that payment forms have been emailed to the lead person for each project, and all completed forms must by returned by April 9.
