LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Sharita Ware, an engineering and technology education teacher at East Tipp Middle School, has made it to the top 10 finalists of the 2022 Indiana Teacher of the Year Program.
According to its website, the Indiana Teacher of the Year Program, “… works to inspire, rejuvenate, and celebrate the teaching profession by recognizing outstanding teachers from across the state.” For the 2022 nominees, Ware has made it to the top 10 finalists, with the winner to be announced in October.
“(Teaching) spoke to the most important parts of me,” Ware said as to why she chose teaching as a career, “and that’s nurturing my creative side and then also my formal education which is in engineering technology. So all at once I was able to do all of those things.”
