With trees in bloom and sports underway, Davidson is emerging from a long, dark winter. Yet even though spring officially began Saturday, March 20th, many of Davidson’s celebrated traditions, from Frolics to commencement, will be limited or cancelled.
Walter Snipes, Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Residence Life, shares the sense of loss of community during the yearlong COVID-19 pandemic. “We haven’t been able to be our full Davidson that a lot of us wanted,” he said, asking whether it had been possible to be “true to ourselves” as a campus while keeping the community safe.
Still, amid dropping COVID cases and rising vaccinations, Davidson is seeing signs of hope for a return to a more typical campus…
