During December the Art of Resilience project documentary was released in the Makerspace Studio within the Parkes Library and Cultural Centre – highlighting the wonderful impact art can have on the community.
The Art of Resilience Project was designed to give the youth of the Parkes Shire a voice, an opportunity to display their creative talents and a mechanism to assist them in coping with the difficulties they have been facing, in the form of the drought, bushfires and COVID-19.
Cultural Education and Library Services Manager, Kerryn Jones, was proud of what the project meant to the town.
“This fabulous initiative highlighted the importance of the arts in well-being and mental health and provided new and exciting experiences for the youth of the Parkes Shire,” said Kerryn.
