Feb. 11—High school students, teachers and administrators from across Lake and Geauga counties are set to converge on the campus of Lake Erie College in Painesville for a two-day symposium that will explore the intersections of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics — otherwise known as STEAM.
Slated from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 6-7, “NEOSTEAM’23” marks the second year of collaboration between the Educational Service Center of the Western Reserve and Lake Erie College’s schools of Arts, Education, Humanities, Social Studies and Natural Sciences, and Mathematics.
According to the Western Reserve, STEAM education uses access points in guiding student dialogue and critical thinking, and stands as a unifier of content areas constructing knowledge and developing skills through a process of transdisciplinary teaching and learning.
