Small and medium-sized companies in Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough area can get up to $25,500 to hire youth interns (15-30 years of age) to support their business’ growth through the Digital Skills for Youth (DS4Y) program.
Funded by the Government of Canada through the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development, DS4Y is a nation-wide program, also delivered primarily in South-Central Ontario, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and Yukon by the Lindsay-based Pinnguaq Association.
The internships help underemployed youth gain meaningful work experience and develop digital skills to successfully participate in the digital economy.
DS4Y internships are funded up to 100 per cent, to a total of $25,500 per internship, including up to $4,000 of digital training, of which $1,000 can be for soft skills.
