University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville hosted an open house event Wednesday. Some people find the thought of going to a university campus overwhelming or intimidating, but with tables set up along the concourse at the admission building, it was a friendly, casual way for people to find out what the university has to offer.
“These events are a way to let people know we’re here and ready to help,” said Zach Perrinem, vice-chancellor for student affairs.
Throughout the year the university visits with high schools, but also reaches out to businesses and communities throughout Independence County and beyond.
