Maroun Abboud Public High School in Aley, Lebanon, is taking bold steps to prepare its students for the future of work amidst the country’s multi-level crises.
The economic collapse and ongoing strike by public school educators over unfair wages have put the education sector in peril, making public education an unreliable option in Lebanon. To combat this issue, the Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (MSFEA) with the resources and support provided by nafda Lebanon (Arabic for “regeneration”), a newly founded local grassroots organization that is working towards a movement for change in the education sector, has worked closely with the Maroun Abboud Public High School to incentivize its students to pursue their education and establish an autonomous approach to learning.
