The 6,700-square-foot MakerGym in UD’s Pearson Hall formerly was a gymnasium for Newark public school students before the building was purchased by the University in 1981. It features an array of 3D printers and other state-of-the-art tools, not to mention a 21st-century woodshop and an advanced manufacturing research center. Open to all UD students, faculty and staff, the MakerGym is a major hub for UD’s MakerNetwork of more than a dozen makerspaces developing across campus.
