Oakland FlexTech Academy announced the launch of its state-of-the-art makerspace. Community members of all ages are invited to tour the space, experiment with the new tools and technology, participate in hands on activities and enjoy light refreshments 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14.
Oakland FlexTech Academy aims to instill in its students a love of learning by making school a place to explore real problems in an environment that emphasizes creativity and craftsmanship. In line with its belief that students learn best by doing, the academy is launching a state-of-the-art makerspace.
Makerspaces are community studio spaces where people gather together to build, share resources, experiment with new tools and technologies, tinker and create.
