The corporate social responsibility (CSR) of the Electronic and Computer Engineering Department of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE), UTM and Seagate International (Johor) Sdn. Bhd. has been conducted since 2016. This year, one of the programmes conducted is the IoT Innovation Hackathon, which was held at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Makerspace.
The 30 selected schools were from districts of Johor Bahru, Pontian, Kota Tinggi, Kulai and Pasir Gudang. Each of the groups is represented by two students and one teacher. Throughout this 1-day program, the participants learnt to build an Internet-of-thing (IoT) innovation by using ESP32 and Blynk.
