
Working with Brightmoor community partners, the Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design, and Detroit Community Schools, the Brightmoor Maker Space is a place for residents, particularly young people, to improve their making skills, develop intergenerational connections, and nurture community revitalization.
A collaboration between Detroit Community Schools and the U-M Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design, the Brightmoor Maker Space opened in 2018, transforming a formerly vacant 3,200 square-foot building into a place for youth and adults to build their creative making skills and incubate business ideas.
