LAS CRUCES – City staff on Monday touted a pilot program meant to give Las Cruces pre-teens and teens more access to arts, crafts and music at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library.
The project, dubbed “Maker Space,” includes several classes and activities meant to engage youth ages 10 to 18, said Stephanie Midwood, young adult department librarian with the city. The hands-on activities range from “no tech,” such as stocking art and craft supplies in the youth section, to “mid-tech,” such as a filmmaking workshop, she told city councilors.
