The Mary C. Moore Public Library has received $6,383 from the City of Lacombe’s Recreation and Culture Grant program to help them create their new Makerspaces.
Unfortunately, the library’s Books and Bevvies event – which was supposed to be held in April to raise funds for the Makerspace -has been postponed for a later date, but the new funding has allowed the staff at the library to prepare for some exciting opportunities for when they reopen to the public.
“It’s our first time applying, actually because we’re closed, due to the situation. We’re already starting to get things ordered. We’re going to have the good fortune to be able to do some professional development while we’re closed,” said Christina Petrisor, Head Librarian at Mary C. Moore Public Library.
