BATESVILLE – A packed Batesville Common Council meeting saw more than an hour of debate before approving the bond request brought forward by Batesville Memorial Public Library (BMPL) for a multi-million dollar expansion.
According to Resolution #09-2023, the approved bonds are not to exceed $6,105,000. This is the maximum borrowing amount with a maximum repayment term of 20 years. An estimated annual payment of $565,000 puts the estimated debt service tax rate at 7.3 cents.
