If you’re looking to build something a little more sophisticated, we recommend the LittleBits Star Wars Droid Inventor Kit, which is a hybrid of a robotics kit and an electronics kit. It feels less like you are building a small electronics experiment and more like building a real, programmable invention. It was the overwhelming favorite kit of our second test panel, but it’s more fun than educational and isn’t the best choice if you’re looking to build a kid’s knowledge of electronics.
