Annually, the St. Charles Public Library conducts a community survey with a different focus.
We do this as a more formal way of collecting community input regarding services, materials and programs. This past month, we asked for feedback regarding technology needs in the new library building, our current technology services and other ideas that could better assist our patrons.
The results of the survey came back with surprising and refreshing ideas that we are excited to consider and roll out. One of the things that we determined is that our community is eager for a physical space in the library that is dedicated to a “creation of things.” This includes a space for physical crafts, DIY activities, digital creation, coding and experimenting with new technology.
