The mysterious theater joining the tenant list at The Oddie District turns out to be the Truckee Meadows Community College theater.
After revealing in June that The Oddie District work-live-create space was welcoming a black box theater, the developer announced this month that designs will start on the theater in fall 2021. The hope is to fully open the theater about a year later.
TMCC’s black box theater will seat up to 150 audience members and will take up 4,300 square feet at The Oddie District. TMCC expects to run two main productions per year along with smaller, student-led productions.
“Over the past year, live audiences have been few and far between,” said Nettie Oliverio, arts and culture director for the developer, Foothill Partners Inc. “We couldn’t be more excited to provide a consistent space for our community’s burgeoning artists.”
