Makerspaces are places where learners can explore a variety of materials and tools to build and create their own projects. It is increasingly common to find a makerspace in schools in the United States. If you didn’t know about them before seeing this article, here I explain why they are useful for students’ education. If you are already familiar with makerspaces, I also share some strategies to get the most out of learning when using these.
