The Holland Patent Retired Teachers Association (HPRTA) has awarded a pair of $100 educational grants to two current Holland Patent teachers.
“There are so many out-of-pocket expenses that teachers bear each year,” the association said in announcing the awards, adding that “as retired teachers, the HPRTA is well aware of these expenses that are not included in dwindling classroom budgets and wants to assist current Holland Patent Teachers Association (HPTA) members with some of these expenses.”
This year’s recipients were Alicia Roscup, a fourth-grade teacher, and Justin Eberley, a seventh-grade science teacher. Roscup will use the funds to purchase materials for reading and writing units of study. Eberley will use the grant money to purchase various materials to support the Makerspace Classroom and STEM kits.
