A tour of the new Arlington High School involves a reoccurring theme: More functions, more space.
A look at the new science rooms is a perfect example; the current labs are small and lack space to have both typical desks and lab stations. The new rooms have double the space some of the old rooms.
“In the old building, we have some rooms that only have about 700 square feet of space,” Arlington High School Building Committee member Amy Speare said. “In the new school, all of our rooms are going to be 1440 square feet.”
The first phase of the building project is coming together, and the plan is for the first phase, the STEAM wing of the building containing science, math and art classrooms, to be ready for student occupation by February 2022.
