After being closed for over a year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the newly-renamed Newark Museum of Art will reopen to the public next month.
New Jersey’s largest museum will reopen on June 3, with members getting early access every mornin from 10 to 11 a.m., museum officials announced Friday. Regular gallery hours will be Thursday to Sunday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Admission to the museum, formerly known as the Newark Museum, will be on a discounted basis through the end of the year and members and Newark residents are admitted free, according to a statement from the museum.
Tickets will cost $10 and $8 for children over 2 years of age. Visitors must reserve their tickets online.
Numerous safety measures will be in place for the reopening, including mandatory capacity limits and strict social distancing measures that adhere to local, state, and federal guidelines.
