
Marin County’s chief librarian cleaned out her office at the Civic Center library this week to make the move to Olympia, where she will become head of the Washington State Library.
Described as a leader and innovator, Sara Jones served as the county’s top librarian for nearly eight years. Earning a salary of $196,000 annually, she managed 107 full-time equivalent employees, 10 branches and two mobile libraries on a $17.5 million budget. Her last day was Friday.
